1930s Black Straw Tilt Hat | Veiled Brim with Pink Poms。This is an outstanding tilt hat from the fashionable 1930s\'! It bis made of fine black fabric which has been topstitched all over and draped and stitched into a unique shape, taller at the top front. There is a grosgrain band at the back to hold the hat in a tilted position. At the back there is a large bow made from wide grosgrain, with long streamers to go over the hair. It is simply stunning! Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Folded, molded, and angled felt made hats look like something out of a Picasso painting. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. Label: J.
